The design consists in the underlying simplicity of the set of 4 parallel slabs, which provides the convenience and flexibility of a simple modular system. Such simplicity is made complex by a “squeeze” applied to the middle area and by adding filaments that tie the bars together. These moves have the double advantage of configuring intimate courtyards framed by bridges branching off the slabs, and providing a dramatic and dynamic view from the outer ring road and from the plane.
